Beginners Yoga Workshop
Description
Yoga is often misunderstood....
Yoga has been prostituted!!
Yoga has been modified.....
In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn the basic principles of yoga:
1. What does Yoga mean?
2. Where does it come from?
3. Why does my pastor say it's evil?
4. Can Yoga help me in my daily life?
5. Do I have to be Hindu to participate?
During the process, you will learn about the 8 fold path of yoga, including the laws of righteousness and the concept of "do no harm."
We will also touch on the basics of Kriya Yoga postures - what to do and when.
Then we will finish off with a comparative study of various yoga styles.
This is an interesting workshop to help give you a better understanding of yoga.
No, we do not have to be part of a particular religion to do yoga! Yoga is a lifestyle, not a religion - a lifestyle of "do good and be good."
We will touch on various scriptures such as the Holy Bible, Bhagavad Gita and Patanjalli's Yoga Sutras to help with a greater understanding!
Please bring your questions.
