As a direct-selling company, our client has a diverse portfolio of products. They are looking for a Buyer with experience working with and sourcing Beauty Products from China. The ideal candidate would be suitably qualified and have at least 5 years experience in a Beauty Buyer capacity within retail or direct-selling environments.
As the Beauty Buyer, you would be responsible for purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships and ensuring the implementation of product and campaign strategies.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for end-to-end category campaign planning, including creating flow plans, managing margin control, overseeing product and BOM listings for catalogue inclusion, ensuring accuracy and alignment of product details, pricing, codes, and descriptions with strategy, and evaluating campaign effectiveness to provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Lead new product development by conducting market analysis and competitive research to inform buying strategies, staying updated on trends to drive innovation and new product ideas, analyzing competitor activity to guide decisions, and selecting products based on market gaps and customer needs. Oversee the entire product development cycle, including briefing suppliers and manufacturers, reviewing quotes, approving suppliers, and ensuring product completion while maintaining compliance with quality, legal, and industry standards.
Conduct monthly analyses of catalogue performance by reviewing KPIs such as sales value, margin, GP%, units, stock levels, and deal effectiveness. Collaborate with demand planning teams to align inventory with sales forecasts and develop and implement strategic plans for campaign planning, brand guidelines, and product training to drive overall success.
Manage supplier relationships by negotiating favourable costs, ensuring quality assurance, and securing timely stock deliveries. Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve optimal deals, and collaborate with Operations to monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance.
Oversee inventory management by maintaining optimal stock levels, implementing strategies to minimize excess stock and manage slow-moving items, and collaborating with the demand planning team to develop effective campaign plans that align stock support with sales forecasts.
Manage the buying budget to ensure all purchasing activities adhere to financial constraints, and regularly report on key financial metrics, including cost savings and profitability, to support informed decision-making.
