Description
Minimum educational qualification
A National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) (NQF 4) with Maths and Accounting
Possession/studying towards a Diploma in Finance/Business Management (NQF 5) or a B Commerce (NQF 6) is recommended
Experience
The incumbent must demonstrate excellent financial acumen and the ability to understand financial policies and procedures as it relates to non-profit organizations. At least 10 years experience in non-profit organization
Inherent Requirement of the job
-Valid (Code B) driver’s license
-Willing to travel when necessary
-Willing to work “odd” hours – “after hours” when necessary
Competencies (knowledge/skills)
-Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, systems and objectives
-Appropriate and proven competencies including human, financial and physical resource management
-Knowledge of financial management processes as it relates to non-profit organisations
-Skill in developing comprehensive financial and budgetary reports
-Ability to analyse and interpret complex, financial data
-Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements
-Knowledge of computer systems and applications, including Pastel
-Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills
-Strong leadership, motivational, organisational and decision making skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team and at a supervisory level with persons of diverse backgrounds
-Fluency in two: English/Afrikaans/Xhosa
Duties (key result areas/outputs)
-Overall supervision of financial accounting transactions
-Supervision of budgetary support and bookkeeping functions
-Administration of all licensing processes as it relates to the statutory requirements for non-profit organisations
-Administration of salaries
-Management of the human, financial and physical resources as directed by relevant policies and operational procedures
-Participate in and support strategies to effectively represent the Association
