Description
We are looking for a Bookkeeper for the Cape Town Fish Market Head Office situated in Table View, Cape Town.
The successful candidate must have good communication skills and effective time management.
Key responsibilities
- Processing on Pastel to Trail Balance / Balance Sheet and Income statement
- Bank Reconciliations
- Daily processing (Tax invoices / Supplier invoices)
- Debtors and Creditors reconciliation
- Petty cash and credit cards management
- Maintenance of fixed asset registers
- Intercompany recharges and reconciliations
- Capturing of payroll expenses and journalising of payroll entries
- Processing of monthly journals
- Mid-month and monthly payment pack preparations
- Loading payments, keeping track of bank balances
- Debt reporting to management
- Processing for monthly management accounts data
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Minimum requirements
- Strong accounting background
- 3-5 years’ experience in a related position
- Advanced Pastel knowledge
- Computer literate including Outlook, Word, Excel & SARS efiling
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work with little supervision in a fast pace environment
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
- System orientated
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Valid driver’s license & own transport
Reporting level:
Candidate will report to the Senior Accountant.
Remuneration
Market related based on relevant qualification and experience. No Benefits
